Since the 2009 season, the FIA has made public the weight of the cars, with the fuel load easily calculated, following the Saturday qualifying session.<\/p>\n

Update 2021: Attention, in 2021, the weight of the cars is different and will be 749 kilos, driver included<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here is the weight of each qualifying car for the Bahrain Grand Prix, sorted in ascending order. Additionally, the specific amount of fuel has been added as well as the driver’s position on the starting grid for the race. This is to observe the different strategies:<\/p>\n

As usual, those with the least fuel are the drivers who entered Q3. Noteworthy performances from Rosberg and Kubica in 9th and 10th, who have more fuel. The logic is thus respected.<\/p>\n

With an intermediate amount of fuel, we find the drivers eliminated in Q1, and then those eliminated after Q2 will be the heaviest at the start tomorrow. It’s Lewis Hamilton who has the most fuel after his poor qualifying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
