Following discussions, Grand Prix drivers have committed to supporting the position adopted by the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) on the current situation after a meeting on Sunday morning in Istanbul.<\/p>\n
The drivers and team principals of eight teams, members of FOTA (to date, Force India and Williams are no longer part of the organization) met for 25 minutes in Toyota’s motorhome. The aim was to discuss the current situation ahead of a week that promises to be decisive.<\/p>\n
The discussions with the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers Association) focused on the impact of the situation on the drivers’ careers and the fact that the drivers have never had a voice in this matter.<\/p>\n
After the Sunday morning meeting, Jarno Trulli stated: \u00ab All the drivers have the same feeling: Follow the FOTA and the work it provides in drafting the next rules, which will seriously maintain the future of the sport. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab We were called today to be kept informed. Indeed, the rules are not clear and need to be discussed for safety reasons. We share the same vision as FOTA in any case. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Trulli joins the teams thinking that the future regulations are not good for the sport.<\/p>\n
\u00ab Mosley must understand that there are things that cannot be allowed. The 2010 rules are very important because Formula 1 must remain the number one sport in the world, with a lot of technology and manufacturers. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab You cannot conceive a championship with teams that have no idea what it takes to compete in such a high-level championship, \u00bb added the Italian.<\/p>\n
