The Italian team N.Technology, present in WTCC for three years, expressed today its discontent and disappointment with the decision recently made by the FIA regarding its application for the 2010 championship.<\/p>\n
The team was competing to be one of the 13 structures present next year in Formula 1. But despite submitting the registration, the FIA – F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l’Automobile – did not deem it appropriate to include the organization among the candidate teams, and no N.Technology file was therefore considered by the world council last Friday.<\/p>\n
As a reminder, the FIA has selected, in addition to the current 10 teams, the structures USF1, Campos GP, and Manor F1. Three other teams (Lotus, Lola, and Epsilon Euskadi) are still in talks to replace, if needed, a structure that might change its mind.<\/p>\n
The N.Technology team was very disappointed with the outcome given by the FIA and through Mauro Sipsz and Angelo Codignoni, the team’s managers, they expressed their frustration: \u00ab The registration of certain teams was used as they saw fit by the FIA. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab We were recently informed that the FIA did not consider our registration because we did not submit any data regarding our engine suppliers in time. This is false. We sent it early enough to be considered. And even if that were not the case, certain teams like Toro Rosso or Red Bull, conditionally selected, did not provide any information on the subject! \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab We are victims of their war [FIA-FOTA] \u00bb continues Sipsz to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.<\/p>\n
The team that made itself known to the press on June 3rd confirms nonetheless that its presence in F1 in 2010 could become a reality as a replacement for a team in contradiction with the regulations.
