Fernando, you didn’t score any points in Istanbul. How do you view this Turkish Grand Prix?<\/b><\/p>\n
Istanbul was a very frustrating race for the whole team. The track conditions were poor at the start of the weekend, so we had to work hard to find the right balance. For the qualifying session, we had decided not to be too heavy on fuel and I was the lightest in the top 10. When you stop early to refuel, you risk finding yourself in the middle of the pack when you get back on track, and that’s exactly what happened to me. I gave it my all but we only managed to finish in tenth position, which is a bit frustrating.<\/p>\n
Do you think the team is capable of climbing up the grid in this second half of the season?<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I have great confidence in the team and I know that all its members are working tirelessly to improve the situation. We have been together for a long time now and we have proven in the past that we never give up. That said, we need to be realistic: all the teams are working hard to develop their cars as well, so it’s not easy to make a big leap forward. We must continue our efforts and bring new technical solutions to each race to be able to fight for podiums on a regular basis. \u00bb<\/p>\n
What is your mindset approaching the British Grand Prix?<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I remain optimistic and determined to achieve a better result at Silverstone. The R29 has always performed well in fast corners, so we should be more competitive this weekend. Additionally, we will evaluate new elements that should improve our performance. As for the circuit, it’s a fantastic place to drive a Formula 1 car, and since this might be the last British Grand Prix at Silverstone, I want to enjoy it. \u00bb<\/p>\n
