It all started with the Italian and Spanish dailies, Fernando Alonso, Renault driver, will join Scuderia Ferrari in 2010. A dramatic turn of events (even if it has been known for several months) with the news set to be revealed and confirmed at the Monza Grand Prix in Italy in mid-September. The only hitch is that Felipe Massa and Kimi R\u00e4ikk\u00f6nen have contracts for 2010. A possible exchange between the Spaniard and one of the Ferrari drivers is therefore being considered. In short, many hypothetical scenarios still linger, confirmed by a denial from the Italian team. Indeed, a few days after these articles appeared in the press, Ferrari denies the information of a potential confirmation of Alonso’s presence at the Italian GP. The only certainty is that the first signs of the 2009\/2010 transfer market are emerging.<\/p>\n

Which tires for the summer races?<\/h3>\n

This past week was an opportunity for Bridgestone to confirm the tires it will provide to teams for the summer races in Hungary, Europe, Belgium, and Italy. Unlike the beginning of the season, there are surprises. For these four GPs, the Japanese manufacturer cannot stick to its early-season position by offering two very different types of tires for a race. Reason being, the two compounds will be similar, simply because the circuits of Hungaroring, Valencia, Spa, and Monza have unique characteristics. Valencia in Spain is an urban race, Spa is a very long and demanding circuit… But these races will be just as interesting, don’t doubt it!<\/p>\n

Hartley, a quick visit and then he’s gone!<\/h3>\n

Brendon Hartley’s stint in Formula 1 was brief, but his name will remain etched in history. To recall, he was the reserve driver for the Red Bull team and consequently for Scuderia Toro Rosso. His entry was peculiar as he had to wait until early May in Spain to get this position. The reason was an inability to pay for his license. Consequently, the young retiree Coulthard was called back to duty. In short, Brendon Hartley served as Red Bull’s No. 3 driver on the Barcelona circuit but remained so for only four races. He decided last week to quit this position just days before the German GP. He cited the impossibility of managing all his activities along with Formula 3 Euro Series and Formula Renault. Thus, he prefers to concentrate on racing. Jaime Alguersuari will take on the same responsibilities as Hartley at Red Bull.<\/p>\n
