Fernando Alonso did his usual job and assessed the tires while monitoring the evolution of the track. With the Hungaroring being very dirty, the track conditions are very changeable. Confidence reigns in the Spanish camp.<\/p>\n
On Piquet’s side, the outlook is not at its best. The Brazilian is struggling to set up his “new” car, which has the same specifications as his teammate Alonso’s. It still needs to be worked on to optimize it for tomorrow’s qualifying. The team is nevertheless satisfied with this first day spent in Hungary.<\/p>\n
Fernando Alonso – 9th and 12th:<\/b><\/p>\n
A normal Friday for us, even though track evolution is always a bit special here. The first session this morning was used to get back in touch with the car, then, in FP2, we focused on tire evaluation. In the end, we are quite satisfied with the work done. Tomorrow, we will work towards qualifying, which will be decisive for the race. We completed our technical program for the day.<\/p>\n
Nelson Piquet – 17th and 15th:<\/b><\/p>\n
The day wasn’t easy because, with the new technical solutions brought here, we have a lot of work to do on adjustments. Since Fernando already had these new developments in Germany, we took everything we could to save as much time as possible. The Hungaroring is a circuit where it’s relatively difficult to find the right setup, the track is dirty and very bumpy. We have now gathered a lot of data, which we will analyze to prepare for tomorrow. I don’t know yet if it will be easy to qualify in the top 10, but we will do everything to have a fast car. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab The day went off without major issues. As usual, we focused on evaluating the tires, particularly the super-soft type, which is generally more challenging to use.
