The new USF1 team, registered for 2010, has reportedly accepted an invitation to join the FOTA before its first Formula 1 season.<\/p>\n
Like the new arrivals, Campos Meta and Manor Motorsport, the team based in Charlotte had the option to be part of the group that currently represents eight of the ten teams on the grid.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Autosport<\/i> learned that USF1 has requested membership in FOTA. The leading members of the group will review the application at the Italian Grand Prix next weekend. A positive outcome for the team led by Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor would confirm that nine of the next twelve current teams are part of the assembly.<\/p>\n
Last year, FOTA officially announced for the first time, the grouping of team grid joined together to ensure a more sustainable future for the sport. Williams and Force India have since been suspended from its meetings, following their decisions for early entries for next season, after the FIA-FOTA war over the budget cap announced earlier in the year.
