The engine used by Rubens Barrichello during the Belgian Grand Prix showed all the signs that it could be reused, despite the oil leak at the end of the race and the fire that broke out in the pit lane after the checkered flag.<\/p>\n
The Brawn GP driver had to slow down in the final laps at Spa after smoke started to escape from the back of his car. The team initially believed that the Mercedes-Benz engine would break, but the problem was limited to an oil leak.<\/p>\n
Post-race analyses revealed nothing more, although the team must now wait until next weekend in Italy to check if Barrichello’s gearbox has also escaped any damage.<\/p>\n
Writing on his Twitter page on Friday, the Brazilian driver confirmed the information: The team told me that my engine is intact after the fire. The gearbox seems okay but we will know more only after Saturday’s tests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
