His last race in Monza was rather mixed, and his goal this weekend is to somewhat close the gap with his teammate, Fernando Alonso. Romain, your weekend in Monza was mixed. What happened during the race…<\/b><\/p>\n
I was disappointed with my race because I wasn’t able to show the true potential of my car. I lost quite a few places at the start and was hit in the first chicane, which damaged the car. It then became very difficult to drive. A little later in the race, my radio stopped working, making things even more challenging. Finishing the race was essential, and I was still able to gain experience, but I had hoped for a better result.<\/p>\n
Are you excited to race in Singapore?<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab Of course. I really enjoy street circuits and the layout looks interesting. I watched the race on TV in 2008 and I remember how amazing the cars looked under the spotlights. It will be my first night race and I can’t wait to be there. \u00bb<\/p>\n
How do you prepare for a circuit you don’t know?<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I have already worked a lot with my engineers and watched videos to understand the layout and to learn as much as possible. I am already familiar with the circuit’s configuration from studying maps. But it’s only once you’re behind the wheel, on the circuit itself, that you really start to understand it. \u00bb<\/p>\n
What are your goals this weekend?<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab My goal is to have a solid weekend in order to maximize the free practice sessions, the qualifying session, and the race. I will try to get closer to Fernando in qualifying and I hope to score some points. \u00bb<\/p>\n
