Force India hopes to continue the momentum of the last two Grand Prix weekends. The team has scored a total of 13 points, placing it, in terms of points over these two races, just behind Brawn GP and Ferrari. However, the team expects a much more difficult race because Singapore demands high levels of aerodynamic downforce, which has not been the strong point of the VJM02 this season.<\/p>\n
The team is nonetheless bringing significant developments to their car and intends to give their maximum until the end of the season. Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi have prepared for the race on the McLaren-Mercedes simulator, available to them as part of their partnership with the Woking team.<\/p>\n
Adrian Sutil – Racing Driver<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab The track is quite exhilarating, with lots of curves and changes in direction, but it’s also very fast, like a cross between Valencia and Monaco. I love street racing, and Singapore is one of them, so I’m looking forward to it. Last year, I didn’t have such a great race, but this year, we are in a very different situation. My goal will be to stay focused from the beginning of the weekend, to do a good job in free practice and qualifying since a good position on the starting grid is very important here. We need to score some points and increase our total in the standings. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Vitantonio Liuzzi – Race Car Driver<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I don’t think I have the speed I had two years ago when I was completely confident in the car. I think there’s still a lot for me to do. It was really a shame for the team not to score points at Monza. But I’m happy because fortunately, I saw that once in the car, I was fast and competitive, that I can deliver good performances and that I can fight with the big names in this World Championship. Singapore will be much tougher. We have worked in the simulator to get to know it better, but it will be a much harder Grand Prix. We will have to see how the car behaves there because it’s a completely different circuit, requiring a high level of aerodynamic downforce, so everything can change. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Vijay Mallya – Team Principal:<\/b><\/p>\n
\u00ab I hope that in Singapore, we can be back in Q3 and in the race for points. We have a new development, which includes some modifications to the bodywork, diffuser, and front wing. Every update we have presented so far this year has really moved us forward, so I am hopeful that we will be able to maintain our performance level. However, we know it will be more difficult than at Spa and Monza since those two tracks require low downforce, whereas Singapore demands higher levels of downforce, but we have set the bar very high now. We must continue to push until the end of the season. It would be very nice to have good performances in any race where there is a large Indian population.
