Williams, currently powered by Toyota, seemed for a time to be highly interested in the Renault engine, but a potential agreement was delayed due to the French team&#8217;s involvement in the crashgate.<\/p>\n<p>The Grove team is currently still considering its options, but Frank Williams thinks that from a technical standpoint, it&#8217;s clear the decision needs to be made quickly. &#8220;The decision will be imminent,&#8221; Frank Williams declares. &#8220;It&#8217;s a technical choice and it requires careful verification and a period of consideration from Patrick [Head] and Sam [Michael], plus some negotiations by Adam [Parr] once that&#8217;s decided. We need to hurry because we don&#8217;t want to fall behind on the design of our car.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The delay in this decision is problematic for Williams, even if Brawn GP demonstrated this year that installing an engine at the last moment in the single-seater is not necessarily prohibitive.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if people are excited about the idea of a new partnership between Williams and Renault, the team principal responds: \u00abAbsolutely\u00bb.
