Luca Di Montezemolo was the president of the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA), which threatened to withdraw from F1 into a parallel championship at the beginning of this year. After lengthy debates, they finally decided to sign the Concorde Agreement until 2012.<\/p>\n<p>After several discussions with the Board of Directors regarding commercial rules and other points of disagreement, the FIA president Max Mosley agreed that the current teams would sign a new Concorde Agreement, binding them to Formula 1 for the next three seasons. It is after this term that Montezemolo wants to reflect and negotiate with the FIA.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab We have a contract that ends in <a href=\"\/f1\/saison-2012\" title=\"F1 2012\">2012<\/a>, so we have time to consider what to do next \u00bb, said Mr. Montezemolo.<\/p>\n<p>The president of the Scuderia believes that the sport needs to be renewed and to rekindle the public&#8217;s interest.
