The Italian took on this role within the Formula 1 teams&#8217; association since its creation in July 2008. Di Montezemolo talks about leaving the FOTA to focus on his role as president of Ferrari and Fiat.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab I took on the role of president because I felt it was good to have FOTA representatives involved in teams competing on the track to have real professionals from the sport, \u00bb said di Montezemolo to the magazine <i>Autosprint<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab That&#8217;s what we did. However, I wear another hat and I can&#8217;t do everything.
