Formula 1 will introduce a new points system from 2010 after the World Motor Sport Council approved the F1 Commission’s proposal to award points to the top 10 drivers in each race.<\/p>\n
According to a declaration by the World Council, following today’s meeting: \u00ab Thanks to the extensive network of 13 teams, and following the recommendations of the F1 Commission, a new points system will be implemented for the 2010 season. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The new points allocation system in the order will be as follows: 25-20-15-10-8-6-5-3-2-1.<\/p>\n
