The Renault team, without title sponsors for the 2010 season but with secured funding, is expected to return to its original colors: yellow and black. The R30 will not feature any neon colors and might closely resemble the RF1 from the 1970s.<\/p>\n

Several factors support this return to basics. First of all, even though the team has an impressive F1 history, Renault is still searching for its future. Crashgate turned a page in the team’s history, and the renewal must restore hope to the fans at all costs. Additionally, the team does not have any title sponsor, so the livery of the R30 should not be influenced by any particular color. Finally, the diamond’s website has just closed to the public, awaiting the start of 2010, offering an explanatory page in black and yellow.<\/p>\n

Renault had promised to unveil its lineup and plans for 2010 before the end of 2009. It now seems more likely that we will have to wait until the first half of January to learn more about the diamond strategy, now greatly influenced by Genii Capital and G\u00e9rard Lopez, the majority shareholder.<\/p>\n

For its 30 years in Formula 1, Renault offered its fans an R28 revamped in the colors of the 70s. The livery of the R30 should be close to the photograph below, with much less black.<\/p>\n
