\u00ab We had a pre-testing program with the MGP W01 but we have not yet reached the level of readiness we would have liked before Bahrain. The car is promising and we have a solid development program planned for the season, but there is a lot of work to be done to ensure that we will be in the fight for the title. \u00bb<\/p>\n
The fact remains that Norbert Haug seems very pessimistic about the start of the season and prefers to position his team as an underdog rather than as the favorite to beat:<\/p>\n
\u00ab Judging by our competitiveness in the first two races, my impression is that we are not where we want to be and I would not want to see our team in the role of favorites. \u00bb<\/p>\n
However, it will be necessary to work very quickly to defend the world champion title but also and above all the honor of Mercedes and Michael Schumacher in order not to be outpaced by the multitude of favorites like Ferrari or McLaren-Mercedes.<\/p>\n
