BMW Sauber has become the first team to copy McLaren’s technical innovation, only two weeks after its official approval by the FIA.<\/p>\n
\u00ab It’s a prototype, and the team worked full throttle last week. \u00bb comments Pedro De La Rosa, questioned about this adaptation, which, if functional, could allow the Sauber team to improve their lap times.<\/p>\n
We are going to test it for the first time this weekend, make sure it works, and then decide if we can use it during the Grand Prix. The former McLaren test driver admitted that he had some knowledge of the system developed by the English team, but that the one developed by Sauber is unique to the team.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the driver even admits that he hasn’t yet figured out how to use the mechanism while driving, but he expresses his desire regarding the development of the system: \u00ab We need to develop it, that’s the main goal. The sooner we start, the sooner we can have it available \u00bb.<\/p>\n
He declares himself impressed to see how quickly the team accomplished this; being a smaller team can sometimes allow us to react much faster than the big stables, he states.<\/p>\n
