Michael Schumacher has decided to join the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association and thus reverses his decision not to be part of this organization. The seven-time world champion was a member of the GPDA before retiring from competition. He had stated last month that he had no intention of joining the association, now that he was back in Formula 1.<\/p>\n
\u00ab I don’t intend to join them, \u00bb Schumacher had stated when speaking about the GPDA. \u00ab I was involved in its setup, the guys have done a good job for three years. I don’t think they need me. And since I’m not in F1 for the long term, but only for a limited time, I don’t think I’ll participate. \u00bb<\/p>\n
However, Schumacher changed his mind and decided to join the GPDA as a somewhat silent member: \u00ab Michael has always supported the work of the GPDA for many years as a director, \u00bb said a spokesperson for the German driver.<\/p>\n
\u00ab After retiring, the association was well taken care of by the younger pilots. Initially, Michael hesitated to join it because he did not want to be involved again.
