The 2009 world champion has a contract that runs until the end of 2012, but his comments suggest that the collaboration could extend several more years. “When my collaboration with McLaren is over, I will no longer race in F1. I am very happy here, I see no reason to look elsewhere. I drive for one of the best teams in the world. It’s a situation most drivers dream of being in. I could stay on the circuit for another three, five years. I don’t know yet,” says Button.<\/p>\n
The McLaren team principal also spoke in the British magazine, and Whitmarsh admits that his driver’s statements are not a surprise: “If Jenson says he wants to stay with us for a few more years, I’m sure we can reach an agreement very quickly.
