Colin Kolles is considering lodging a complaint with the FIA – F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l’Automobile – regarding teams using low-blown exhausts.<\/p>\n
The HRT team itself abandoned the plan to install these exhausts on its cars at the Spanish Grand Prix when it learned that they would be declared non-compliant by the governing bodies.<\/p>\n
He stated on this subject Sunday night: \u00ab It is clear that the cars using these exhausts are illegal. Charlie Whiting agrees with us, and this system must be banned before the next Monaco Grand Prix. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to make a gesture of protest \u00bb<\/p>\n
Kolles clarifies his thinking in technical terms: \u00ab You cannot influence aerodynamics with hot exhaust gases, you cannot influence aerodynamics through a movement like throttle pedals or devices moving on the engine, or anything else. So, it is illegal and it gives other teams a huge advantage. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Until now, the FIA has sidestepped the issue before the Spanish Grand Prix, but it will surely have to make a decision by the end of the week if it does not want the threats from Kolles and the other teams powered by Cosworth to take effect.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
