A few minutes before the end of the race, Renault driver Vitaly Petrov violently hit a barrier, which required the immediate intervention of a medical assistance team and the interruption of the race with a red flag.<\/p>\n
While there was concern during Petrov’s transfer to the hospital, the Lotus Renault GP team aimed to be reassuring by announcing in a statement: \u00ab No fracture was diagnosed at the circuit. Once at the hospital, it was confirmed that there was no fracture \u00bb.<\/p>\n
The team also announced that as a precaution Vitaly will undergo a full scan, but he should be back in the paddock in the next few hours. \u00bb<\/p>\n
No worries then about the Russian’s health despite some pain, it seems.<\/p>\n
