\u00ab I got off to a good start today, that’s the only positive thing to take from the race. I thought I would be able to push hard, but unfortunately the rear tires degraded during the first stint and my performance dropped. It was a tough weekend for us with a car that wasn’t at its best, just like me. It happens sometimes, but we’re going to try to push to be better in Montreal. We will learn from what happened today. We know we’re better than our result. I’m sure we will improve and move forward in about two weeks. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there isn’t much positive to take away from such a race. At the end, there was a fire inside the air intake chamber, and the car simply stopped working, but the start of the race wasn’t satisfactory either. At the beginning, the anti-stall system didn’t function properly, forcing me to re-engage a starting procedure. Then, I had a meeting with Lewis at the first corner, which resulted in a malfunction of my front wing: I lost downforce, and it affected my tire performance. We had to stop earlier than expected, and from there, the race was inevitably compromised. Overall, it was quite an exciting race, and I am glad that Vitaly Petrov is doing well.<\/p>\n

After the practice sessions and qualifying, we had hope that our two drivers would have some opportunities, but it is clear that today, the race was very disappointing. We encountered difficulties with the first set of super soft tires: they quickly lost performance and suffered from graining. We will need to examine this. It’s all the more surprising given that we had a good pace during practice. We experienced technical issues during the race, but the major problem was the inability to maintain the first set of tires over a distance of ten or twelve laps.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
