I found it challenging to find the right balance of the car with the new tire compounds we tested. Despite that, I tried different levels of downforce and worked on the setup. During the afternoon, the car was better, but I made a mistake on a fast lap with the super softs and hit the wall. It’s obviously my fault. The team, the engineers, and the mechanics did an excellent job around the driver’s seat and ensuring the car was ready on time. It was important for Pedro to get a feel for the car before tomorrow. Kamui, on his side, followed a normal program this afternoon until he hit a curb and went too wide on super-soft tires. He wasn’t able to continue. Until then, performance was improving.
