The company Daimler, which manages Mercedes, has completely divested its shares in the McLaren team. The team based in Woking was previously owned 40% by Mercedes, but following the acquisition of Brawn GP which became Mercedes GP, the German manufacturer wanted to withdraw from the capital of the British team, and this was also the desire of the latter, which wanted to regain its independence.<\/p>\n
It is now done. Daimler joined the capital of the McLaren Group, which notably owns the F1 team McLaren, in 1999 by taking 40% of the shares. It then withdrew following the acquisition of Brawn GP at the end of 2009, in favor of a Bahraini investment fund, Mumtalakat.<\/p>\n
The McLaren Group is now owned by Ron Dennis – 25% of the shares, TAG Group, owned by Mansour Ojjeh – 25% of the shares, and Mumtalakat which holds 50% of the shares.<\/p>\n
