This Wednesday, November 8th, the first part of the virtual hearing will take place between Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Williams. They have all been summoned by the FIA following the review conducted by Haas. In Austin, the race commissioners only punished Williams driver Alex Albon for repeated track limit violations. There were no other penalties, particularly because there were no clear camera perspectives in certain turns. Haas wants to take action against this by providing its own video evidence.<\/p>\n
\u00ab There is precise regulation. If the commissioners don’t have the information, they obviously can’t intervene. I fully respect the fact that the commissioners cannot make a definite decision if they haven’t seen the photos. But we have clear evidence. Now, there will be a review and we will see what the FIA will do once they receive it. I think they must take action because otherwise it would mean that established rules can be violated without consequences.<\/p>\n
“We want to raise this issue because otherwise we will have to change the rules. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of track limits. I’m the last person to want sanctions for it. But if there is a rule, it must be respected. It’s more a matter of principle than punishment,” said the Haas team boss.<\/p>\n
Sanctions that, if applied, could shake up the final standings of the United States Grand Prix and bring H\u00fclkenberg back into the points, as he had finished in 11th place. This revision could therefore, if successful, earn valuable points for Haas, who are only 4 points behind Alfa Romeo in the constructors’ championship.<\/p>\n
He insisted, however, that he \u00ab does not think the penalty makes a difference compared to our current situation. But in the end, we just have to follow the rules. The rule must be consistently applied. If you need to change the rule, you can discuss it, just like changing the track limits \u00bb.<\/p>\n
