A potential entry into F1 by the Volkswagen group has been mentioned from time to time over several years, either as a manufacturer or as an engine supplier. Rumors have suggested a possible entry through one of the group’s brands, notably Audi or Porsche, or even Volkswagen.<\/p>\n
The Volkswagen brand has finally decided to commit to the WRC in 2013 with a Polo R WRC entrusted notably to French driver S\u00e9bastien Ogier. This season, the German manufacturer is entering Skoda S2000s to gain experience, and F1 is therefore no longer on the agenda as stated by the new head of competition at Volkswagen, Jost Capito.<\/p>\n
