Russia is set to host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2014, in Sochi – which will also host the Winter Olympics that same year. The organization of the race is currently being prepared but is reportedly already behind schedule with two years to go.<\/p>\n

Igor Yermilin indicated to RIA Novosti that there had been significant changes in the organizational structure of the Grand Prix, notably with the departure of certain officials from Omega, the company in charge of the project.<\/p>\n
Yermilin also stated that the Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place after the Olympics, is not the current priority: The priority for now is the Olympic Games; the Grand Prix is sidelined. This could therefore lead to significant delays in meeting preparation schedules.<\/p>\n
