But that is going to change this year, as Pilbeam left the triple world champion team at the end of 2012 to join Lotus F1.<\/p>\n<p>To replace him, the Austrian team decided to hire a defector from Lotus, Simon Rennie, who was one of Kimi R\u00e4ikk\u00f6nen&#8217;s two race engineers at the Lotus F1 team in 2012. Red Bull issued a statement to make it official: &#8220;We can confirm that Ciaron Pilbeam has left the team for a new position at Lotus.
