Giedo van der Garde has received a five-place grid penalty for the British Grand Prix, which will take place in three weeks at Silverstone. The stewards of the Canadian Grand Prix decided to penalize him because he did not respect the blue flags.<\/p>\n
The Caterham driver was penalized with a 10-second stop-and-go after a collision with Mark Webber’s Red Bull at the hairpin while being lapped. But a few laps later, he collided again, this time with Nico H\u00fclkenberg’s Sauber, causing the German to retire and damaging his own front wing, which forced him to retire a few corners later.<\/p>\n

As if that weren’t enough, the Caterham team was also fined 2,000 euros for an incident in the pit lane.
