{"id":17182,"date":"2013-06-25T09:52:55","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T09:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.casinoenligne.uk.com\/en\/f1\/news\/15727-red-bull-was-seeking-100-million-fine-for-mercedes"},"modified":"2013-06-25T09:52:55","modified_gmt":"2013-06-25T09:52:55","slug":"15727-red-bull-was-seeking-100-million-fine-for-mercedes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casinoenligne.uk.com\/en\/f1\/news\/15727-red-bull-was-seeking-100-million-fine-for-mercedes","title":{"rendered":"Red Bull was seeking a $100 million fine for Mercedes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes emerged from the FIA International Tribunal without any real sanction while the German team&#8217;s opponents had hoped for a more substantial penalty.<\/p>\n<p>This is particularly the case for Red Bull, which has reportedly, according to <i>Bild<\/i>, submitted to the court two possible sanctions: either a fine of 100 million dollars &#8211; like the one imposed on McLaren in the espionage case against Ferrari in 2007, or a penalty of 150 points in the constructors&#8217; championship.<\/p>\n<p>The International Tribunal did not follow Red Bull&#8217;s proposals by only giving a reprimand and excluding Mercedes from young driver tests, and if <a href=\"\/f1\/\/f1\/actualite\/15723-testgate-Pirelli-reprimande-mercedes-suspendu-pour-les-rookies-days.html\/actualite\/15725-F1-Ferrari-se-cabre-Red Bull-accepte-la-sanction-infligee-a-Mercedes.html\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Red Bull accepte la d\u00e9cision du Tribunal International de la FIA, Ferrari la critique\">the Austrian team accepts the tribunal&#8217;s decision<\/a>, it could still take advantage of this verdict to conduct its own tests.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, according to <i>The Times<\/i>, Red Bull &#8211; and potentially Ferrari &#8211; might boycott the young drivers&#8217; tests taking place at Silverstone from July 17 to 19 in order to conduct three days of testing on their own.
