The Sauber F1 team was the first to announce that it has a homologated chassis for the 2014 Formula 1 season. The Swiss team recently had its C33 successfully scrutinized by the International Automobile Federation (FIA).<\/p>\n

\u00ab The chassis of the Sauber C33 has passed all the static and dynamic FIA tests and is officially homologated. The rear crash test, which is not part of the chassis homologation, will take place later, as usual, \u00bb explains the Sauber team on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n

Having a homologated chassis is now important in Formula 1 because it is necessary to take part in the winter private testing sessions, which will begin on January 28 on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in Spain. The Hinwil team is the first to have revealed this information, and it is likely that other teams will follow. For the moment, the C33 does not have an official presentation date\u2014like its rivals\u2014but it should not take long, even if some observers believe that most of the cars could be unveiled in Jerez just before the first winter tests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
