The team from Maranello has regularly swapped the bland combination of F followed by the year as a car name for designations with a specific meaning.<\/p>\n<p>This was notably the case in 2009, when Ferrari unveiled the F60 &#8211; a name given in tribute to the 60th Formula 1 season for the Maranello team. Similarly, in the 2011 season, with the Ferrari F150 &#8211; which eventually had to change its name to Ferrari 150\u00b0 Italia since F150 is a registered trademark of Ford &#8211; it was a tribute to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. This year, Ferrari has done it again with the F138 &#8211; 13 for 2013 and 8 for the last year of the V8 engines &#8211; ahead of the switch to 1.6L V6 Turbo engines starting in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>For 2014, things will be different because the Scuderia has decided to involve its fans in choosing the name of its future challenger, as explained on its website: The name of the Scuderia&#8217;s car for 2014? It will be chosen during the month of January by millions of Ferrari fans worldwide via the Internet.
