In 2013, Cosworth powered the single-seaters of the Marussia team, enabling the team to finish the championship in a valuable 10th place. This year, the Russian team decided to strengthen its ties with Ferrari by integrating an Italian hybrid turbo V6 engine into its new single-seater.<\/p>\n

As a result, Cosworth is no longer present on the starting grids this year, which hasn’t stopped the British manufacturer from designing an all-new hybrid V6 turbo engine following the new regulations in force. Although this power unit is not yet assembled, Cosworth has stated it is ready to supply teams from next season at an attractive cost: \u00ab I think we will provide a very cost-effective solution for the teams on the grid, \u00bb said Hal Reisiger, the executive director of the brand with 155 Grand Prix victories.<\/p>\n

If the engine manufacturer is not present in Formula 1 in 2014, it is solely because there was no team ready to sponsor the development of the new power unit, as Reisiger explained to NBC Sport<\/i>.<\/p>\n

While awaiting a possible return to Formula 1, Cosworth has committed to finding a partner in the American Indycar series, which also operates with V6 engines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
