Daniil Kvyat is therefore the first driver to be penalized this season for installing a sixth element of the power unit. For the Russian, it’s the internal combustion engine. As stipulated in Article 28.4 of the 2014 Sporting Regulations, this first change incurs a penalty of 10 grid positions for the Grand Prix that will take place on Sunday.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Article 28.4 of the 2014 Sporting Regulations details the penalties that may be imposed. The hybrid engine comprises six distinct elements (the internal combustion engine, the MGU-K, the MGU-H, the energy store, the turbocharger, and the control electronics unit), all of which are limited to a maximum of 5 per season. Penalties are imposed differently, as follows:<\/p>\n
