Jenson Button is reportedly in talks to drive the Porsche prototype in the WEC, where Mark Webber competes, if he is not retained by McLaren for the next season.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, McLaren is awaiting Fernando Alonso’s final decision on whether he will join Woking or not. There is uncertainty about the name of the future teammate of the Spanish driver; it could be Kevin Magnussen or Jenson Button. The latter, the 2009 world champion, is interested in staying in F1 if he gets a competitive car, according to his manager Richard Goddard:<\/p>\n

\u00ab McLaren is not sure what they will do and what their crew will be (in 2015). Anyone looking for a seat would want Jenson’s. Jenson is still focused on F1 but wants to be in one of the best teams. We are always open to discussion \u00bb he says.<\/p>\n

Jenson Button’s manager believes that the World Endurance Championship would be a tremendous opportunity as it is becoming more competitive. For him, it’s a fantastic series:<\/p>\n

\u00ab This is a very credible discipline. Jenson Button is a very competitive driver who wants to race. He is too good to remain at the back of the grid in F1. So either he gets a competitive car in F1 or he will look for another seat elsewhere \u00bb he continues.<\/p>\n

Jenson Button is currently 7th in the drivers’ championship with 94 points.<\/p>\n

He reportedly received a solid offer from Porsche, but he might continue with another team and must ask what McLaren wants to do with him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
