Similarly, Jean-Eric Vergne, guilty of touching Romain Grosjean, was penalized 5 seconds. He thus loses his 9th position to Pastor Maldonado who had finished ahead of the Frenchman on the track but also had a 5-second penalty. Nevertheless, the Toro Rosso driver scores the point for 10th place.
