Esteban Gutierrez will no longer drive for Sauber F1 next season, as the Swiss team – with which he made his F1 debut in 2013 – has already announced Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr for the 2015 F1 season.<\/p>\n
Although these appointments overshadow the young Mexican’s future in Formula 1, Gutierrez remains optimistic for next year, as quoted by GPUpdate<\/i>: \u00ab Unfortunately, after long discussions and negotiations, we were unable to reach an agreement. At the same time, we must and continue to work on various alternatives with the intention of staying in Formula 1. \u00bb<\/p>\n
\u00ab I fully thank my entire team, my sponsors, and my fans for their support throughout my career; we will continue to work as a team to find the best way forward. \u00bb<\/p>\n
Gutierrez also wanted to thank the Sauber team for the two years spent together in competition and the time spent developing with the team’s support beforehand: I would like to thank every member of the Sauber team for all the time we worked together. I wish them the best.<\/p>\n
