The United States Grand Prix is an opportunity to review the mechanical components that may have been changed since the beginning of the season. Thus, the FIA, through several official documents, allows tracking, throughout a race weekend, all the replacement operations carried out on the single-seaters.<\/p>\n

This season, such a series of information is of utmost importance, as the Sporting Regulations (Article 28.4a) require teams to adhere to a maximum quota of five power units per car. These units include a series of parts which can themselves be replaced individually, up to a limit of five. These parts are:<\/p>\n

– le moteur thermique<\/p>\n

– le turbocompresseur<\/p>\n

– la batterie<\/p>\n

– le MGU-K<\/p>\n

– le MGU-H<\/p>\n

– l’unit\u00e9 de contr\u00f4le \u00e9lectronique (UCE)<\/p>\n

Beyond these quotas, penalties of 5 or 10 grid places may be applied. In the extreme case of a complete block change, the driver must start from the pits.<\/p>\n

Few changes in components at Interlagos: Mercedes drivers, Grosjean, Gutierrez, and Kvyat have installed their 5th battery of the season; this is the main information to remember.<\/p>\n

On the gearbox front: Grosjean, P\u00e9rez, and H\u00fclkenberg have changed theirs without penalty.<\/p>\n
