After winning the F1 world championship title, Lewis Hamilton recently clinched the BBC Sport Personality of the Year award. The Mercedes driver surpassed golfer Rory McIlroy and athlete Jo Pavey.<\/p>\n

He told BBC Sport<\/i> during the ceremony about his desire to continue in Formula 1 for many more years: \u00ab I feel like I can do another seven years in F1. That’s the goal. I clinched the first title in 2008 and now a second title, so the sky is the limit for me now. I just have to keep moving forward. \u00bb<\/p>\n

If Hamilton continues to race in F1 for another 7 years, he will then be 36, a perfectly acceptable age – Kimi R\u00e4ikk\u00f6nen being 35 and Michael Schumacher having ended his career at the age of 43 and Rubens Barrichello at the age of 39, notably.<\/p>\n

With potentially another 7 years of F1 ahead of him, Hamilton could match the number of world titles of his idol, Ayrton Senna (3 titles), and perhaps even Alain Prost (4 titles).
