The FP2 started dry in Montreal but with a threatening sky, the drivers took advantage of this dry run to test the super-softs. Lewis Hamilton was the fastest with the red-banded tires, clocking a 1:15.988 in front of Vettel’s Ferrari.<\/p>\n

But things got tougher for the Briton afterward with the arrival of rain; he lost control of his Mercedes and ended up in a tire wall, damaging his Silver Arrow. Race direction then decided to wave the red flag to remove the car.<\/p>\n

With the arrival of rain, the drivers spent less time on the track in this second session, taking full advantage of the dry track at the beginning of the session.<\/p>\n

The Lotus cars, with Mercedes engines, are once again well placed, with Maldonado in 5th and Grosjean in 7th on the timesheet. On the McLaren-Honda side, it’s not as bright, with Alonso being the fastest with only the 15th time, while Button had to settle for the 18th time, half a second behind his teammate.<\/p>\n
