Of course, the position of the historic Formula 1 teams, which would not want to lose their advantages acquired over many years, could be a hindrance to this revolution. Marchionne is aware of this: “I think a lot of these things have been caused by a defense mechanism of certain historic teams that have tried to protect people in particular positions – including Ferrari at one point. This proves how fleeting victory is if you don’t manage it intelligently.
