Lotus’s future in Formula 1 is becoming increasingly uncertain. Rumors of the team being bought by the French manufacturer Renault are growing more insistent and plausible. Although no agreement has been signed, it seems that a letter of intent has been finalized between the two parties.<\/p>\n

If this acquisition takes place, the question already arises as to who will lead the team. Renault ambassador for many years, Alain Prost seems to have the ideal profile for this position. Some already see him as a French Niki Lauda, providing his advice and vast experience in a director role.<\/p>\n

But the four-time world champion wanted to downplay this information by stating that he did not see himself as the sporting director of the likely future Renault team: \u00ab I will not be the team boss. \u00bb he mentioned during an interview for a German media outlet on the sidelines of the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend.<\/p>\n

\u00ab I have never seen things this way. I never asked to own shares in Renault \u00bb, he also clarified.<\/p>\n

Certainly still traumatized by his experience as a team boss with Prost Grand Prix in the late 90s, the four-time world champion doesn’t really want to invest full-time in the discipline anymore.
