The home victory of Jean-\u00c9ric Vergne allowed him to take more than a win’s lead over his closest pursuer, Sam Bird. Additionally, the retirements and various underperformances of F\u00e9lix Rosenqvist have almost eliminated him from the title race. This year’s race will be the third to take place at the former Berlin airport after a one-season interlude on the streets of the city center. The track was significantly redesigned last year to allow for a more spectacular race.<\/p>\n
The track measures 2.27 kilometers and features a total of 10 turns. The first three turns are snail-shaped, similar to the Shanghai circuit. Subsequently, the cars will pass through a tunnel set up for the occasion. The next section of the track consists of a fast segment before reaching the ninth U-shaped turn, which serves as a key overtaking spot. Once the final turn is negotiated, a lap of the circuit will be completed. Since the track surface is made of tarmac, grip is expected to increase as the day progresses.<\/p>\n
