Alex Tai will leave the management of DS Virgin.<\/b><\/p>\n

Alex Tai, the director of the DS Virgin team, is expected to leave his position at the end of the season. He has been leading the British team since the start of the championship in 2014. Tai was not present at the last Berlin ePrix, where technical director and deputy director Sylvain Filippi assumed his role. The board members of the team were informed of his departure at the end of the season just before the German round. Coincidentally, this decision comes just two weeks after Envision Energy purchased shares in the structure, with the ambition of becoming a manufacturer in the discipline. It should be noted that the double New York ePrix organized in July is expected to be an opportunity for the Virgin team to formalize its engine partnership with Audi starting next season, with DS joining the Techeetah team next year.<\/p>\n

Belgian driver J\u00e9r\u00f4me d’Ambrosio is likely to leave the American team Dragon at the end of the season, after four years of collaboration. The team’s management even considered replacing the former Virgin F1 driver for the end of the season with their test driver Maximilian G\u00fcnther. Ultimately, this possibility will not materialize. So far, J\u00e9r\u00f4me d’Ambrosio has secured two victories in Formula E, in Berlin during season 1 and in Mexico during season 2. These victories were achieved post-race due to the disqualification of Lucas Di Grassi in both events. Unfortunately for him, the struggles of his team have pushed him down the rankings in the past two seasons. His agent is reportedly in discussions with several teams for the upcoming season. <\/p>\n

The two lead drivers of the Chinese team Techeetah will be able to test the DS Performance car for the next season. Indeed, the partnership between the French manufacturer and the structure is almost finalized. The two drivers will test the car for the first time during sessions organized at the Calafat circuit in Spain, starting Thursday. No member of the Techeetah team is expected to be present during these sessions, which will be overseen solely by DS Performance engineers. Until now, it was St\u00e9phane Sarrazin who was responsible for development at DS Performance. His appointment at Andretti, which will be powered by BMW next year, forced DS to change plans. However, the Frenchman is not expected to test the future German car any earlier. The official announcement of the future team’s name, as well as its effective partnership with DS, is expected to be made at the New York ePrix in July.<\/p>\n
