Hispania Racing Team brought some updates to their aerodynamic package here in Istanbul. The Spanish team set a good time in practice on Friday and had a strong qualifying session, positioning themselves between the Virgins. However, the race was marked by an incident in the pits and uncatchable Virgins. The team finished last but finished. The reliability was there, and the performance should be as well in Spain in two weeks for their home race.

Virgin had high hopes for the improvements made to its MRV02 for the return of F1 in Europe. Unfortunately, some of the new features, including the low-blow exhausts similar to Red Bull's, did not work as intended. They will need to revise their plans for Spain, where the team hopes to make a significant step forward, especially as HRT is getting closer and closer.

The English team Williams has been struggling since the start of the 2011 F1 season. However, the team showed better form on Saturday during qualifications by placing Barrichello just outside the points on the grid. Yet, during the race, the performances dwindled, and the Brazilian driver lost 4 places to finish only 15th in Istanbul. His teammate also experienced the same situation, losing three places by the end compared to his starting position. His penalty for excessive speed in the pits didn't help.

Lotus Renault GP had a rather satisfying weekend, managing to place both cars in the points. Vitaly Petrov even took advantage of the last lap to get ahead of Buemi and score three points.

After securing the front row in qualifying, the Red Bull team completed the circle with a perfect weekend, achieving a one-two finish in the race and the fastest lap credited to Mark Webber. As usual, Vettel built up a sufficient lead during his first stint, allowing him to manage his race, while his teammate had to fight hard to finish 2nd.

The two T128s once again saw the checkered flag but were unable to repeat their Shanghai performance, due to tire issues for Jarno Trulli and hydraulic problems for Heikki Kovalainen.

The Swiss driver increased his points total in the championship after a solid race, on a 3-stop strategy, which could have allowed him to match his performance in Australia. However, the Toro Rosso driver had difficulties with his tires towards the end of the race and had to give in to the attacks from the Lotus-Renault drivers, while his teammate suffered from recurring tire problems throughout the race.

Starting from third position on the starting grid, Nico Rosberg was likely aiming for better than a final 5th place. The German driver was even in second place after the first corner. Unfortunately, his fuel-laden W02 didn't spare his first set of tires. Nevertheless, the W02 seems definitively more competitive even though there is still work to be done before aiming for the top positions.Schumacher's race was disrupted as early as the second lap due to an incident with Vitaly Petrov's Lotus Renault. The seven-time world champion will not have fond memories of this Turkish Grand Prix.
