He finished second, behind team-mate Lando Norris, but retained the lead in the world championship.

Some victories count for more than others. Lando Norris conquered his in front of his home crowd, on the legendary Silverstone circuit, at the end of a high-voltage race. It was the Briton's first win on home soil, and will undoubtedly go down as one of the most memorable moments of his career.

Charles Leclerc finished practice for the British Grand Prix in the lead at the wheel of his Ferrari. He was ahead of Piastri's McLaren and Verstappen's Red Bull, although the session ended under red flag after Gabriel Bortoleto lost control of the Sauber at the end of the session.
