After several challenging races, Team Sauber finds some reason to smile thanks to Nico Hülkenberg's qualification in Q3; the German driver will start from 10th position on the grid tomorrow. Improvements also for Esteban Gutierrez, who will start from 14th place.

For Jenson Button, things are going in the right direction as he could have finished 6th if he had decided to race in Q3. But he chose not to set a time and is therefore ranked 9th. On the other hand, for his teammate, Sergio Pérez, the qualifications were much more complicated, and he only ranks 13th.

Daniel Ricciardo delivered another performance today in Germany by qualifying 6th on the grid. The Australian driver hopes to take advantage of this to achieve a good result tomorrow. Jean-Eric Vergne, on the other hand, had more difficulty but hopes things will change tomorrow.

So feared, the changes made to the tires ended up being insignificant for Lotus, which, with the 4th and 5th places of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean respectively during the German Grand Prix qualifications, lost none of its splendor. The Finn even believes he could have aimed for better, while Grosjean is thrilled to be back at the front.

The Red Bull drivers did not manage to secure pole position today, but both men are lurking behind Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel is on the front row, with Mark Webber right behind him, and both will try to fight for the victory.

After the fire, due to a KERS problem, it was the water pump of the Williams FW35 that failed Pastor Maldonado. The Venezuelan had only one single attempt to extract all the potential from his car, in vain, ending up in 18th position, just behind his teammate, Valtteri Bottas.
