Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta both suffered from a brake issue during the second practice session, which cost them track time and altered the behavior of their Sahara Force India VJM06. However, both drivers remain confident in their ability to be competitive in tomorrow's qualifying and Sunday's race.

While the McLarens have never really seemed comfortable this season, the first day of testing went very well for the men from Woking in Abu Dhabi. The McLaren MP4-28 cars entrusted to Jenson Button and Sergio Pérez seem to be in the mix.

Sebastian Vettel was the fastest during the second free practice in conditions similar to those of qualifying and the race. Mark Webber followed closely by finishing 2nd in this session, so for the moment, even though there is still work to be done, the Red Bull team can be pleased with their day.

The Williams F1 team brought some new features to the FW35 in Abu Dhabi and it seems to be working quite well, at least according to Pastor Maldonado who was in charge of the tests. Valtteri Bottas is also enthusiastic but will have to do his best with the equipment he has.

Nico Hülkenberg expressed satisfaction with his Sauber C32 after the first day of testing. The German driver believes he has a card to play this weekend and will give his all to secure a good result. Esteban Gutiérrez was a bit more reserved in order to test different setups for qualifying and the race.

The Mercedes AMG F1 drivers claimed the podium positions today, and Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg believe they have a good chance this weekend. Both men aim to deliver a strong performance to secure the team's second place in the constructors' championship.

Heikki Kovalainen replaced Giedo van der Garde during the first practice session, and this was beneficial a priori as the Dutch driver found a good car to drive at the start of the second practice session even though everything isn't perfect yet. Charles Pic, on the other hand, struggled to properly set up his car during both sessions, but the Caterham drivers seem confident for the rest of the weekend.

Third this morning, Sebastian Vettel returned to his favorite position this afternoon at the Yas Marina circuit: first. The German is ahead of his teammate Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton.
