The Austrian single-seaters didn't win in Mexico on Sunday, but Formula 1 will remember the end of the Grand Prix as a bit of an adventure. After making very different strategic choices, Vettel and then Ricciardo found themselves in Verstappen's diffuser. At the finish, the order on the line was provisional. Verstappen took his first penalty before the podium, Vettel took the podium but was stripped of it two hours later in favor of Ricciardo.

After a fine 5th place in qualifying, Nico Hülkenberg had to be content with 7th place at the end of the Mexican Grand Prix, after losing out to Kimi Räikkönen's comeback. Sergio Perez was frustrated by being stuck behind Felipe Massa for most of the race, and settled for 10th place.

Sebastian Vettel livened up the end of the race in Mexico City: after winning a penalty for Max Verstappen and celebrating a podium finish, he also received a 10-second penalty for changing direction while braking to protect himself from Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian finished third in the race.

After some uncertainty over his second place after Verstappen's attacks, Rosberg enabled Mercedes to score another double in Mexico. The Dutchman was stripped of his third place after defending to the hilt against Rosberg and refusing to give the position back to the German.

Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button made the most of their single-seaters today, finishing 11th and 13th, which will give them the opportunity to choose their starting tires and have a different strategy to try and score points to consolidate their sixth place in the Constructors' Championship.
