Last Friday in Abu Dhabi did not spare the Haas team. And yet, the two practice sessions seemed to have got off to a good start for the American team. Romain Grosjean, in particular, was plagued by water pressure problems, bringing his session to a premature end. Esteban Gutierrez, meanwhile, had two quieter sessions.

The soon-to-be-retired driver finished the season on a freewheel and was even hoping for the impossible! But that didn't mean the Grove team rested on its laurels, quite the contrary. Following the fine performance of the two Force Indias at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Vijay Mallya's men enter the final leg with a 27-point lead over their rivals Williams. The margin was less comfortable than at the end of FP1, but Lewis Hamilton kept the upper hand in FP2. The Englishman edged out Nico Rosberg by just 79 hundredths. Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were half a second behind Vettel's Ferrari.

The first session of the weekend was held under a blazing sun. The conditions weren't the same as those we'll encounter in qualifying and the race, so it wasn't a time for fine-tuning. Rosberg set the fastest time at the start of the session, but Hamilton soon picked it up and kept it for the rest of the session. The Red Bulls were once again in the lead at the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
